Gas Safe Engineers are legally required to check flues after carrying out any work on boilers.
This will include a visual inspection. Equally, when engineers install a boiler they must ensure that it can be used without causing a danger to anyone; this would include checking whether the flue is removing fumes safely.
The engineer who originally installed the boiler and every subsequent servicing or maintenance engineer must be able to check the flue is operating correctly.
